The Garden City Police report two arrests for Grand Larceny which occurred on Sunday, May 07, 2017 at 2:47 pm.
According to detectives, on Friday, April 14, 2017, Henky Z. Zanbergen-Traversi, 50, and Walter A. Contreras-Silva, 48, both of Chile, removed credit cards from a vehicle located at Cherry Valley Golf Club, located at 28 Rockaway Avenue. They proceeded to purchase and attempt to purchase merchandise and gift cards at Target stores located in Hicksville, Levittown and Westbury, causing a loss exceeding $5,000 to the victim. An investigation by Garden City Police led to the arrest of the two defendants in Astoria.
Detectives ask anyone who believes they may be a victim of a similar crime to contact their local police department.
Both men are charged with two counts of Identity Theft 1st degree, two counts of Criminal Possession of Stolen Property 4th degree, three counts of Grand Larceny 4th degree, and two counts of Forgery 2nd degree. Contreras-Silva is charged with additional charges of Identity Theft 1st degree, Criminal Possession of Stolen Property 4th degree, Forgery 2nd degree and Grand Larceny 4th degree. They will be arraigned on Monday, May 8, 2017 at First District Court in Hempstead.
