The Major Case Bureau reports an arrest for Robbery on Friday, May 26, 2017 at 5:05 pm in FarRockaway.
According to robbery squad detectives, on Friday, April 28, 2017, a male victim, 37, walking on Jeanette Avenue, Inwood, was approached by 5 male black suspects who asked him for money. One of the male suspects displayed a knife and demanded all of the victim’s property. At this time a male witness, 40, walked over to the suspects with his phone in his hand, attempting to video the incident. One of the suspects, identified as Tamel D. Brooks, 19, of 255 Lawrence Avenue,Apt. 49, Inwood stated to another suspect to shoot the witness attempting to video. At this time the witness backed away from the scene and called police. The five suspects fled on foot. No injuries were reported and no proceed were taken. Brooks was located and placed under arrest without incident in front of 1310 Red fern Avenue, Far Rockaway.
Brooks is charged with Robbery 1st degree (Attempt), Robbery 2nd degree(Attempt) and Menacing 3rd degree. He will be arraigned onSaturday, May 27, 2017 at First District Court in Hempstead.
