According to detectives, defendants Jasmine Hylton, 29, and Kevin Peterkin, 26, both of 145-55 180th Street, Queens entered Macy’s – 1000 Green Acres Road on four separate dates; April 20, 25, 26 and May 1 and stole approximately $17,000 in clothing, $8000 in electronics and houseware, and $6,600 in cash from various cash registers. Defendant Hylton was employed by Macy’s and used her employee key and an uninvolved supervisors’ pass code to disarm the alarm and enter the closed store. After an investigation detectives were able to arrest defendant Hylton at her job on May 5, 2016 at 3:35 pm. Defendant Peterkin was placed under arrest on May 6, 2016 at 12:20 am in front of his home. Approximately $10,000 of merchandise and $1430 in cash was recovered inside the home.
Defendant Hylton is being charged with 4 counts of Burglary 3rd Degree. Defendant Peterkin is being charged with 3 counts of Burglary 3rd Degree. They will be arraigned on Friday, May 06, 2016 at First District Court, Hempstead.
