The Nassau County Policereport the arrest of a Franklin Square man for Driving While Intoxicated inFranklin Square on Saturday, June 24, 2017 at 1;04 am.
According to police, FifthPrecinct Police responded to a call for an auto that struck Brews BrothersTavern located at 183 Franklin Avenue. Upon arrival, Fifth Precinct policeobserved 3 male occupants sitting in a 2002 Audi that had extensive front enddamage stopped in the northbound lane facing south. An investigation revealedthat the operator Michele Masci, 23, of 938 Fenworth Boulevard was operatingunder the influence of an alcoholic Beverage. He was placed into policecustody. Masci suffered shoulder abrasions and was transported by the FranklinSquare Fire Department to a local hospital and treated. His 23 year old frontpassenger suffered contusions to his right lung. The 23 year old rear passengersuffered a fractured right rib. Both were transported in a Nassau CountyAmbulance and treated at a local hospital. Also damaged was the AllstateInsurance Company store front located at 184 Franklin Ave and an electricalpower line pole that was struck causing power lines to fall.
Michele Masci is chargedwith Driving While Intoxicated, 2 counts of Assault 3rd Degree,Criminal Mischief 4th Degree, and Reckless Driving. He will bearraigned in First District Court in Hempstead on Saturday, June 24, 2017.
