The First Squad is investigating a Burglary that occurred on Saturday, July 1, 2017 at 1:30 am in North Bellmore.
According to detectives, a 36 year old male victim returned to his Pea Pond Road home and heard a noise coming from upstairs. The victim went upstairs to investigate and found an unknown male subject in the bedroom. The subject yelled that he was a police officer and displayed a shield. A struggled ensued and the subject was able to break free and fled the home in an unknown direction. The subject is described as a male, 5’8’ tall, approximately 160 lbs., wearing a black jacket and a brown ski cap. There was no loss. The victim was transported to a local hospital by private vehicle for treatment of lacerations to the face and head (which required several stitches) and a broken arm.
