The Seventh Squad reports the arrest of a Massapequa man for fireworks that occurred on Saturday, July 08, 2017 at 12:13 am in Massapequa.
According to detectives,Seventh Precinct Police officers after receiving noise complaints responded to 41 Riverdale Avenue for a large loud party with fireworks. Upon their arrival they observed a large wedding party along with large professional fireworks being discharged. An investigation of the area revealed many professional grade fireworks that included 49 pyrotechnic mortars, a pyrotechnic display cake, and numerous firecrackers. Also recovered were various other spent pyrotechnic displays. Seventh Precinct police interviewed the defendant Thomas Giglio, 39,of 41 Riverdale Avenue who is the homeowner. He stated the fireworks were forhis wedding party. Thomas Giglio was then placed into police custody. The Nassau County Arson Bomb Squad responded and secured the remaining fireworks.
Thomas Giglio is charged with Labor Law Section 458 – Possession of Fireworks. He will be arraigned in First District Court in Hempstead on Saturday, July 08, 2017.
