The Nassau County Police Department reports the arrest of a West Babylon female for Driving While Intoxicated that occurred on Sunday, July 16, 2017 at 2:35 am in Freeport.
According to police, a Nassau County Highway Patrol Officer was stationary monitoring traffic at the intersection of S. Main Street and Mill Road, when she observed a 2012 Honda Accord travelling north on S. Main Street. The operator of the vehicle crossed a solid white line, collided with the officer’s marked police car and continued traveling north. The officer initiated a Vehicle and Traffic stop.
It was determined Charisse Trapani, 34, of 125 Columbus Avenue had been drinking and was placed under arrest without incident. No injuries were reported.
Four (4) tablets believed to be Amphetamine were located in the defendant’s vehicle. The defendant was also in possession of a white powdery substance believed to be Ketamine.
Defendant Trapani is charged with two (2) counts of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 7th degree, Reckless Driving, Driving While Intoxicated, Leaving the Scene of an Incident without Reporting and numerous other Vehicle and Traffic Laws. She will be arraigned Sunday, July 16, 2017 at First District Court, Hempstead.
