The First Squad reports the arrest of a Baldwin man for Grand Larceny that occurred on Friday, July 21,2017 at 12:30 am in Baldwin.
According to detectives, a 40 year old male victim parked his 2007 Chevrolet Tahoe on Baldwin Avenue. The victim returned to his vehicle and noticed that his automobile was ransacked and a laptop computer, headphones and a backpack containing personal papers were stolen. Upon police arrival, officer’s observed a male approaching the same vehicle. When the officers approached, the subject fled the scene. After a brief pursuit the subject was apprehended and placed under arrest. It was determined that defendant David Webster, 25, of 2057 Oakmere Drive was indeed the individual who committed the above crime. The above items were recovered inside the defendant’s bedroom after a consent search.
Further investigation also determined that defendant Webster was responsible for a larceny on Oakmere Drive from a 2009 Chevrolet Suburban on June 24, 2017. Defendant Webster stole a pocketbook containing personal papers and $150 in gift cards. The pocketbook was also recovered without the gift cards. On June 4th,2017, defendant Webster also took a wallet from a 33 year old female victim containing an undetermined amount of US currency. This incident occurred on Long Beach Road, Oceanside.
Defendant David Webster is being charged with 3 counts of Grand Larceny 4th Degree and Petit Larceny. He will be arraigned on Saturday, July 22, 2017 at First District Court, Hempstead.
