Second Squad detectivesreport the details of an arrest for leaving the scene of an accident thatoccurred in Levittown on Sunday, 08/06/17 at 9:15 P.M.
According to detectives,Andrew Zub, 40, of 43 Elm Dr. W., Levittown, while operating a 2016 Dodge Ramsouthbound on Seamans Neck Rd./Holmes St. was in collision with a 2002 Nissan,operated by a male driver, 53, and a female passenger, 74. Thedefendant’s pick-up truck was thrust off the roadway and collided into rearfences on Ferris Rd., knocking down an above ground swimming pool. Thedefendant fled the scene of the accident on foot.
Wantagh Levittown FireDepartment ambulance transported the driver and passenger of the Nissan to alocal hospital for treatment of non-life threatening injuries.
Subsequent investigation bySecond Squad detectives led to the arrest of the defendant at his residenceseveral hours later. Zub is being charged with two counts of Leave Sceneof Incident/Property Damage, two counts of Leave Scene of Incident/Injury/ Failto Show License, Aggravated Unlicensed Operation 2nd Degree andCircumvent Interlock-Subject to Court Order-Operate MV W/O Device. Hewill be arraigned on Monday, 08/07/17, in First District Court, Hempstead.
