The Fourth Squad reports thearrest of an unidentified man for Attempted Murder that occurred on Monday,September 04, 2017 at 12:57 am in North Long Beach.
According to detectives, patrolofficers responded to 80 Waterfront Blvd. for a 911 call regarding a suspiciousperson making threats. While canvassing the neighborhood, an officerlocated a person matching the description of the suspicious person in thevicinity of Long Beach Blvd. and E. Fulton Street. The officer verballyengaged the male and began to investigate. The subject became combative,grabbed the officer’s gun and holster. A struggle for the firearm ensued. A second officer arrived at the scene and assisted in the physicalaltercation that was in progress. The subject was subdued and placedunder arrest.
The first officer on scenesuffered an injury to his hand and was transported to an area hospital fortreatment.

The defendant is beingcharged with Murder 1st degree (Attempt), Robbery 2nd degree(Attempt), Assault 2nd degree, Resisting Arrest and ObstructingGovernmental Administration 2nd degree. He will be arraignedTuesday, September 5, 2017 at First District Court, Hempstead.
