The Major Case Squad reports the arrests of three N. Massapequa men at approximately 8:05pm on Wednesday, October 4, 2017 in N. Massapequa.
Detectives from the Narcotics/Vice Squad in conjunction with the Nassau County COPE unit conducted a joint investigation in the N. Massapequa area regarding the sale of Concentrated Cannibus, THC Oil and crack cocaine. The investigation that began in April 2017 led to the arrests of defendants John Griffin, 25, and Christopher A. Ruiz, 21, both of 246 N. Atlantic Avenue N. Massapequa along with defendant John J. Kossmann, 22, of 144 Block Boulevard Massapequa Park. A search warrant was executed for the residence at 246 N. Atlantic Avenue; recovered items included; a dagger, switchblade knife, butterfly knife, machetes, folding knives, a loaded semi-automatic handgun, an undetermined amount of US currency, drug paraphernalia and substances believed to be marijuana, crack cocaine, concentrated Cannibus and THC edibles.
Defendant Kossmann was charged with Unlawful Possession of Marijuana and was released on an Appearance Ticket returnable to First District Court. Defendant Christopher A. Ruiz is charged with Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance and Criminal Possession of a Weapon. Defendant John Griffin is charged with five counts of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance, one count of Criminal Sale of a Controlled Substance, two counts of Criminal Possession of a Weapon and one count of Criminal Possession of a Firearm. Both will be arraigned on Thursday, October 5, 2017 in First District Court 99 Main Street Hempstead.
