The Nassau County Police report the arrests of a Bethpage man and a North Carolina man that occurred on Friday, October 20, 2017 at 10:10 p.m. in Bethpage.
According to police, officers were on patrol when they saw Lloyd Morgan, 59, of 5721 Goodstone Drive, Raleigh, NC urinating in the parking lot of the BP Gas station on Wantagh Ave. As the defendant walked back to the vehicle that he was a passenger in, police observed a knife on his waistband. Eugene Jones, 34, of 270 Harrison Ave. in Bethpage was the driver of the vehicle that Morgan was returning to and was observed to have a gun on the right side of his pants. A handgun was recovered from Jones’ waistband. Defendant Morgan was found to have a black gravity knife on his person. Both subjects were placed under arrest without incident. Further investigation revealed an additional gravity knife as well as ecstasy, marijuana and other various drugs.
Defendant Morgan is being charged with two (2) counts of Criminal Possession of a Weapon 3rd degree, Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 7th degree and Disorderly Conduct.
Defendant Jones is being charged with Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 4th degree, Criminal Possession of a Weapon 2nd degree, Criminal Possession of a Firearm, two counts of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 7th degree, Criminal Possession of Marijuana 5th degree and Unlawful Possession of Marijuana.
They were both arraigned on October 21, 2017 in First District Court, 99 Main Street Hempstead.
