The Major Case Bureau reports the details of a Fire that occurred at 5:06am on Sunday, October 22, 2017 in Old Westbury.
According to Arson Bomb Squad Detectives, a fire at a residential home on the grounds of the Glen Oaks Club located at 175 Post Road began around 5:06am. The Westbury Fire Department assisted by surrounding town fire departments used twelve pieces of apparatus and approximately one hundred fifty personnel to extinguish the fire. The fire started in the exterior front just left of the front door and the home suffered severe damage. All occupants exited the home safely. One Westbury firefighter suffered a broken foot and was transported to a hospital for treatment of his injury. The fire has been deemed accidental and the investigation is closed.
