Fifth Squad detectivesreport the arrest of an Elmont man for five burglaries that occurred in ValleyStream and Elmont beginning 10/18/17 through 10/27/17.
According to detectives, onFriday, 10/27/17 at 1:50 P.M., a witness notified police after observing RamonKelly, 25, of 487 Keller Ave., looking through windows of residences. Hethen walked up the driveway of a residence into the rear of a home on Dana Ave.in Valley Stream. Fifth Precinct police officers located the defendant inthe rear sunroom of the home and placed him under arrest. Furtherinvestigation revealed that the defendant had proceeds from a burglary he hadcommitted at 1 P.M., on the same day, at a residence on Dover St. in ValleyStream. Additionally, on Wednesday, 10/18/17 and 10/24/17 Kelly committedburglaries on Home St. and Lydia Ave., both in Elmont. Proceeds from theburglaries were electronics, jewelry, wallets, credit cards and othermiscellaneous items. On Tuesday, 10/10/17, the defendant used a victim’scredit card, to make a purchase in the Target electronics department, locatedin Elmont, in the amount of $706.05.
Kelly is being charged withfour counts of Burglary 2nd Degree, one count of Burglary 2ndDegree (Attempt) and Identity Theft 2nd Degree. He will bearraigned on Saturday, October 28, 2017 in First District Court, Hempstead.
