Major Case Bureau detectives from the Robbery Squad are investigating a bank robbery that occurred on Saturday, September 2, 2017 at 12:30 pm in Massapequa.
According to detectives, a male black subject entered Capital One Bank, 4374 Sunrise Highway, approached a female bank teller and handed her a demand note for money. After obtaining an undisclosed amount of cash, the subject, who was described as being 25-30 years old, 5’6”-5’8” tall, about 150 pounds, wearing a dark colored hooded long sleeve zippered sweatshirt, dark colored pants, bright colored sneakers and a dark colored baseball hat, fled the bank and was last seen heading north on foot.
No injuries were reported by the three employees and four customers who were present at the time of the robbery.

The Major Case Squad reports the arrest of Rashan Burris 31, of 24 Birch Street, Wyandanch for the above Robbery. Rashan Burris is being charged with Robbery 3rd degree. The defendant will be arraigned on Wednesday, November 1, 2017 at Nassau County Court, 262 Old Country Rd in Mineola.
