The Nassau County Police Department reports the arrests of two men for Driving While Intoxicated that involved a serious auto accident with injury that occurred on Saturday, November 18, 2017 at 4:32 am.
According to police,defendant Vincent D. Milo, 27, of 215 North Idaho Avenue, Massapequa wasdriving north on Bellmore Avenue in a 2006 Nissan with a 25 year old frontfemale passenger at which time he struck a 2002 Chevy that was parked legallyin the vicinity of Marion Street. At that time defendant Andrew Ball, 30, of1107 Scotts Lake Road, Salem, New York was following in his 2017 Volkswagenstopped his car and offered help to Defendant Milo who was known to him.Seventh Precinct police responded and observed the two defendants standingoutside the 2017 Volkswagen and the female victim now lying in the frontpassenger seat of that car.
Further investigation revealedthat both defendants were operating their vehicles under the influence of analcoholic beverage. Both were placed into police custody. The female victim wastransported to a local hospital and is being treated for a severe head injury.She is listed in critical condition. Defendant Milo was transported and treatedfor multiple facial lacerations. Defendant Ball was also in possession of agreen leafy substance believed to be marijuana and a white powdery substancebelieved to be cocaine.
Defendant Vincent Milo ischarged with Driving While Intoxicated 1192.3 and will be arraigned whenmedically practical. Defendant Vincent Ball is charged with Driving WhileIntoxicated 1192.1 and1192.3 having a conviction within 10 years. Ball ischarged with Unlawful Possession of Marijuana and Criminal Possession pf aControlled Substance. He will be arraigned in First District Court on Hempsteadon Sunday, November 19, 2017.
