The Nassau County Police Department reports the arrest of a Sea ford man for Driving While Ability Impaired –Drugs that occurred on Monday, November 20, 2107 in South Farmingdale.
According to police, SecondPrecinct Officers on routine patrol observed a 2014 grey Jeep make a left handturn onto Merrits Road. While travelling southbound on Merrits Road, thevehicle failed to maintain a lane of traffic and drove over the white pavementmarkings. Officers conducted a vehicle traffic stop. The driver wasobserved to have slurred speech, glassy bloodshot eyes and an odor of analcoholic beverage from his breath. Defendant Thomas Mancinelli, 58, of4003 Maywood Drive, was placed under arrest. Subsequent to the arrest ahypodermic syringe along with a silver spoon containing a melted blue powderysubstance believed to be heroin was recovered inside of the automobile. Alsorecovered in the center console cup holder was a red cup half full of abeverage believed to vodka.
Defendant Mancinelli isbeing charged with Driving While Ability Impaired – Drugs, Driving WhileAbility Impaired- Combined Drugs/Alcohol and Criminal Possession of aControlled Substance. He will be arraigned on Tuesday, November 21, 2017at First District Court, Hempstead.
