The Public Information Office reports the details of a water rescue that occurred in Long Beach on Wednesday, November 29, 2017 at 7:31 am.
According to police, a male caller notified the Nassau County Police Marine Bureau and stated that his 60 year old male friend was stranded in a 20 foot long boat somewhere on Reynold’s Channel in the vicinity of Duck Point. He stated that he was stuck there since 3:00 pm Tuesday, November 28, 2017. Marine Bureau 7 was able to locate the man along with his boat stuck on a marsh located on the north side of Reynold’s Channel. The male victim was observed to be unresponsive, hypothermic, and shaking uncontrollably. The victim was transported by the Long Beach Fire Department to a local hospital and treated for Hypothermia.
