The Fourth Squad Detectives report the arrest of an East Rockaway man for an Attempted Murder that occurred on Sunday, December 17, 2017 at 12:30 a.m. in Hewlett.
According to detectives, police responded to a domestic incident that occurred in Hewlett. The defendant, Anthony Moscati, 35, of 36 Alice Court, had a heated argument with the 39 year old female victim and held a switchblade knife to her neck. The defendant pushed the victim into a wall, causing a wound on the back of her head. While defending herself, the victim raised her hands and was struck by a knife held by Moscati, causing multiple finger lacerations. Officers responded from a 911 call by the defendant and placed him under arrest without incident. The victim was transported to an area hospital by a Nassau County ambulance, while the defendant was transported by a Nassau County ambulance to an area hospital for a psychological evaluation. There were no other injuries reported.
Defendant Anthony Moscati is charged with Attempted Murder 2nd Degree, Assault 1st Degree and Criminal Possession of a Weapon 4th Degree. He will be arraigned on Sunday, December 17, 2017 in First District Court, Hempstead.
