DISTRACTED DRIVING INITIATIVE
County Executive Laura Curran and Commissioner of Police Patrick J. Ryder announce that April has been designated:
“Distracted Driving Enforcement Month”.
Nassau County Police Department along with state and local departments will participate in an initiative to enforce distracted driving violations. This initiative will consist of high visibility enforcement, targeting distracted driving, concentrating on texting while driving and cell phone use while driving. The goal of the program is to increase safety in an effort to reduce serious injuries and deaths resulting from motor vehicle accidents caused by distracted driving.
