The Third Squad reports the arrest of a Rosedale man for Assault that occurred on Saturday, April 14, 2018 at 8:45 pm in E. Garden City.
According to detectives, patrol officers responded to a 911 call for a fight at Roosevelt Field Mall located at 630 Old Country Road. Upon arrival, officers located a male screaming and acting irrational. While attempting to place the subject under arrest, he began to resist by flailing his arms, kicking his legs and refusing to be handcuffed. The subject refused to comply with the officer’s commands causing him to fall to the ground. The officer suffered an abrasion and pain to right eye and swelling to his left knee. After being subdued, Jarret Rivera, 23, of 133-60 24th Street was placed under arrest.
The officer was transported to an area hospital for treatment.
Defendant Rivera is charged with Assault 2nd Degree, Resisting Arrest, Obstructing Governmental Administration 2nd Degree and Disorderly Conduct. He will be arraigned on Sunday, April 15, 2018 at First District Court, Hempstead.
