The Second Squad reports the arrest of a Bayville man for an incident that occurred on Friday, July 6, 2018at 11:57 p.m. in Roslyn Heights.
According to Detectives, a Third Precinct Officer on patrol observed a blue BMW X1 commit multiple Vehicle and Traffic Law Violations, while travelling westbound on Northern Boulevard in Roslyn. The Officer activated his emergency lights to initiate a Vehicle and Traffic Law stop. The defendant Thomas Hogya, 36, of 4 Baldwin Boulevard, Bayville, refused to pull over and headed southbound on Mineola Avenue where he was stopped on Oakdale Road in Roslyn Heights.
After a struggle with officers,the defendant was placed into custody. During the investigation it was determined that the vehicle driven by the defendant was reported stolen on July 5, 2018 from a residence in Locust Valley.
Defendant Hogya is charged with Criminal Possession of Stolen Property, Unlawful Fleeing of a Police Officer, Reckless Driving, Resisting Arrest, Aggravated Unlicensed Operation of a Vehicle and multiple VTL violations. He will be arraigned on Saturday July 7,2018 at First District Court, 99 Main Street Hempstead.
