The Third Squad reports the arrest of a Laurelton man for Criminal possession of a Weapon which occurred on Wednesday, August 1, 2018 at 11:19 P.M. in Manhasset.
According to detectives, Police Officers stopped a 2002 BMW in the vicinity of 100 Community Drive for a traffic violation. While conducting their investigation the driver Brandon Moore, 24, of 13828 230th Place, Laurelton attempted to flee on foot. Moore was quickly apprehended. A Police Officer suffered a shoulder injury during the brief struggle. Inside defendant Moore’s car, officers recovered approximately 1 pound of Marijuana and a loaded handgun. The Officer was transported to an area hospital for treatment of his injury. Defendant was arrested without further incident.
Defendant Moore is charged with Criminal Possession of a Weapon, Assault 2nd degree, Criminal Possession of Marijuana and several Vehicle and Traffic Law violations. He will be arraigned on Thursday, August 2, 2018 at First District Court, Hempstead.
