The Nassau County Police Department reports an Unusual Incident that occurred on Friday, August 17, 2018 at 5:29 p.m. in East Atlantic Beach.
According to police, a Town of Hempstead Lifeguard called 911 stating that hypodermic needles washed up along the shore of Ohio Avenue to Clayton Avenue. Police responded and safely removed and properly disposed of the needles. No injuries were reported.
If anyone comes in contact with any hazardous materials, hypodermic needles, call 911 and police will be dispatched immediately and will safely and properly dispose of these hazardous materials.
Police request that anyone with information of illegal dumping of hazardous materials to contact Nassau County Crime Stoppers at 1 – 800 – 244 –TIPS. All callers will remain anonymous. The Fourth Squad is actively investigating.
