
The Second Squad reports the details of an arrest for Assault which occurred on Monday, August 20, 2018 at 4:59 P.M in Hicksville.
According to detectives, Second Precinct Police officers responded to a Group Home on West John Street to investigate an aided case. Upon their arrival, they met with the 59 year old male victim that informed them that he had just been assaulted by another male resident. The Officers then located the subject, Anthony Robinson, 58, of 302 W John Street in his bedroom. The defendant, when confronted by the officers, raised a metal dumbbell above his head in a threatening manner. The officers attempted to gain control of the defendant, however the defendant did strike an officer in the head several times with the dumbbell. After the struggle, the officers were able to gain control of the defendant and place him under arrest. All three Police Officers were taken to an area hospital and treated for head, back, hand and knee injuries. The 59 year old victim was also transported to an area hospital and treated for a facial injury.
The defendant is charged with 3 counts of Assault 2nd degree, Assault 3rd degree, Resisting Arrest , Criminal Possession of Weapon 3rd degree and Menacing 2nd degree. He will be arraigned on Tuesday, August 21, 2018 at First District Court in Hempstead.
