Third Squad detectives report the arrest of a Uniondale man for Assault that occurred on Saturday, August 25, 2018 at 11:30 p.m. in East Meadow.
According to detectives, defendant Michael Ammino, 39, of 172 Manor Parkway, was observed by Nassau University Medical Center Public Safety Officers causing a disturbance near the Carman Avenue entrance. As two Public Safety Officers tried to escort him safely off the premise he became combative and punched victim 1 in the face causing substantial pain and swelling. Victim 2 attempted to subdue the defendant and in the process was taken to the ground with the defendant causing a laceration and substantial pain to his hand. Both Public Safety Officers were able to hold the defendant at the scene until police arrived and he was taken into custody without further incident. Both victims were treated for their injuries and released.
Michael Ammino is charged with two (2) counts of Assault 2nd Degree and two (2) counts of Menacing 3rd Degree. He will be arraigned on Sunday, August 26, 2018 at First District Court in Hempstead.
