
Homicide Squad is conducting an investigation in the vicinity of Glenn Curtiss Boulevard in East Meadow.
According to detectives, while working jointly with Homeland Security and the DEA, information was received that human remains may be found in a Nassau County owned sump on the southwest side of Glenn Curtiss Boulevard. During this investigation human remains were discovered. The remains appear to be from a male in his late teens. This investigation is ongoing.

Defendant Carlos Benitez-Hernandez, 21, of 1023 Harding Street, Uniondale, was arrested in connection with the above incident. He is charged with Murder 2nd Degree and will be arraigned Thursday, August 30, 2018 at First District Court, Hempstead.
