Third Squad detectives report the arrest of a Dix Hills man for Assault that occurred on Thursday, August 30, 2018 at 11:15 a.m. in Westbury.
According to Detectives, defendant Mitchell Kushner, 50, of 201 Seaman Neck Road, entered a room at the Pines Motor Lodge at 101 Taylor Avenue in Westbury to engage in prostitution activities. A verbal argument ensued and it escalated to a physical altercation. The defendant stabbed the male victim, 31, multiple times with a knife. During this altercation a female victim, 20, tried to intervene and the defendant swung his knife at her as she pushed him off the male victim. The female was not struck by the knife. The defendant fled the scene. The male victim was transported to an area hospital for treatment.
After an investigation and with the assistance of Suffolk County Police, the defendant was taken into custody in front of his residence without further incident.
Defendant Mitchel Kushner is being charged with Assault 2nd Degree, Attempted Assault 1st Degree, two (2) counts of Attempted Assault 2nd Degree, Criminal Possession of a Weapon 3rd Degree, Possession of a Dangerous Weapon 4th Degree and Patronizing a Prostitute 3rd Degree. He was arraigned on Friday, August 31, 2018 at First District Court at 99 Main Street in Hempstead.
