“BACK TO SCHOOL”
Plainedge Schools and the Nassau County Police
This year the Nassau County Police Department has utilized our School Resource Program Initiative and requested that all Police Officers and Supervisors participate in our school districts opening days this week.
PDCN members of all ranks greeted students, faculty and families to ensure that our presence, as well as our commitment to them, is having their safety as a top priority.
By having PDCN members visit schools on a regular basis we are constantly familiarizing ourselves with not only the layout of the buildings, but we are also introducing ourselves to administrators, teachers and students.
Our officers will continue to visit schools while they are in session to create strong relationships and promote the safest atmosphere possible in our schools.
The attached video was produced by Plainedge schools and is an example of the important partnership between education and law enforcement.
