The Second Squad reports the arrest of a Levittown man for Criminal Possession of a Weapon that occurred on Monday, September 10, 2018 at 4:55 pm in Seaford.
According to detectives, the Nassau County Society for Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (NCSPCA), Nassau County District Attorney’s investigators and officers from New York State Environmental Conservation State Police (DEC) conducted an investigation regarding dangerous animals. During the investigation, officers responded to a residence on Gilling Road, Seaford and observed a 2002 Lincoln back into a driveway. Officers observed a Gila Monster in the vehicle which is illegal to possess in New York. Nassau County Emergency Services Officers removed three (3) Gila Monsters, one (1) alligator, two (2) Caiman and five (5) Bearded lizards. Additionally, a handgun and substances believed to be steroids were recovered in the vehicle.
Anthony Cammarata, 27, of 43 Parkside Drive was arrested without incident.
Defendant is being charged with Criminal Possession of a Weapon 2nd Degree, two (2) counts of Unlawful Possess Large Capacity Ammunition Feeding Device, Protection of the Public from Attack by Wild Animals and Reptiles, five (5) counts of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 7th Degree and four (4) counts Possess Dangerous Animals. He will be arraigned on Tuesday, September 11, 2018 at First District Court, Hempstead.
