County Executive Laura Curran and Commissioner Patrick J. Ryder will be hosting a School Safety Forum on Tuesday, September 25, 2018 at Hofstra University. This forum will focus on issues that affect all communities in Nassau County.
There will be a vast spectrum of speakers including County Executive Laura Curran and Police Commissioner Patrick Ryder. Experts from Department Commands which include Narcotics/Vice Bureau, Central Testing Division/Drug Recognition, Bureau of Special Operations, NCPD Homeland Security and many more from both the Department and Private Sector will be addressing significant issues pertaining to our children and families.
In addition, attendees will hear from Krystal who is a person in recovery as well as Mr. Victor Ciappa, the father of Natalie, telling his daughter’s story. Topics and demonstrations will include, Active Shooter, Cyber-Bullying, Stop the Bleed and Operation Natalie - Our War on Opioid Abuse. Teachers, School Administrators, Parents, Students, Community Members and Residents are encouraged to attend this important event.
