
The Fifth Squad reports the arrest of two men for Larceny that occurred on Thursday, September 27, 2018 at 10:12 p.m. in Hempstead.
According to detectives, police received a radio assignment for larcenies from autos on Spruce St. and Hempstead Ave. Upon arrival, officers observed two males who fit the complainant’s description walking north bound on Spruce St. looking into vehicles. When officers approached the subjects they fled on foot, damaging a fence in the process. The subjects were apprehended a short time later.
Further investigation revealed that the two subjects traveled in a stolen red pickup truck that was found at an Exxon gas station located at 820 Hempstead Ave.
Defendant Osarogie Aibangbee, 18, of 799 Marilyn Ln., Baldwin, was found to be in possession of alcohol that was stolen from the same Exxon station earlier in the day. He was also in possession of one can of pepper spray and two torch lighters. The lighters were stolen from BP Gas Station at 700 Nassau Blvd., Hempstead. He is charged with Grand Larceny 4th Degree, two counts of Petit Larceny, two counts of Criminal Possession of Stolen Property 5th Degree, Petit Larceny (Attempt) and Possession of Noxious Material. He will be arraigned on Friday, September 28, 2018 at First District Court, Hempstead.
Defendant John Villatoro, 18, of 638 May St., Hempstead, was found to be in possession of marijuana. He is charged with Criminal Mischief 4th Degree, Petit Larceny (Attempt) and Unlawful Possession of Marijuana. He will be arraigned on Friday, September 28, 2018 at First District Court, Hempstead.
