The Nassau County Police Department reports the arrest of a Lynbrook man for Driving While Intoxicated/Leandra’s Law that occurred on Sunday, October 14, 2018 at 2:51 A.M. in Rockville Centre.
According to police, Cesar Caraballo, 45, of 138 Atlantic Avenue, was observed operating a 2016 Infiniti westbound on Merrick Road at a high rate of speed. After conducting a car stop, it was discovered that the defendant had a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage on his breath, glassy eyes and slurred speech. The defendant had his 15 year old stepson in the car with him. The defendant was arrested without incident. His stepson was released to the custody of his mother.
Caraballo is charged with Aggravated Driving While Intoxicated (child 15 or under-Leandra’s Law), Endangering the Welfare of a Child, Driving While Intoxicated and several Vehicle and Traffic Law violations. He will be arraigned on Sunday, October 14, 2018 at First District Court in Hempstead.
