
The Third Squad reports the arrest of a homeless man for Burglary that occurred on Saturday, November 3, 2018 at 10:00 pm.
According to detectives, a 56 year old male manager at the Academy Charter School located at 94 Fulton Avenue reported to Hempstead police that several I Pad’s were missing from a classroom. A subsequent investigation determined that the defendant Theodore K. Simonson, 54, no known address is responsible for removing 8 I pad’s and a head set after entering into the school through a first floor window at 10:00 pm. Later on at 4:19 am the defendant entered again into the school through a first floor door and removed 14 additional I pad’s and a head set. Total loss was in excess of $ 12,600 dollars. On Tuesday, November 6, 2018 Hempstead police observed the defendant walking in the vicinity of 50 Jackson Street and placed him into police custody without incident. The proceeds were not recovered. There were no injuries reported.
Defendant Theodore K. Simonson is charged with two counts of Burglary 3rd Degree. He was arraigned on Wednesday, November 07, 2018 in First District Court in Hempstead.
