The Homicide Squad reports the details of a Serious Vehicular Accident involving a pedestrian that occurred on Wednesday, November 7, 2018 at 5:40 p.m. in Garden City Park.

According to detectives, a 35 year old female was attempting to cross from the south side of Jericho Turnpike, west of Fifth Avenue, to the north side when she was struck by a vehicle traveling west bound.  The male driver, 60, remained at scene and suffered no injuries.  The female pedestrian suffered serious face and head injuries and was transported by a Garden City Fire Department ambulance to an area hospital for treatment. 

The vehicle was brake and safety tested.

The investigation is ongoing.
