The Second Squad reports the arrest of two individuals for Assault that occurred on Saturday, November 10, 2018 at 2:50 a.m. in Farmingdale.
According to detectives, police officers were called to The Nutty Irishman on Main Street for a fight. An investigation at the scene led to the arrest of Carlos Alvarez-Contreras, 23, of 265 Eastern Parkway, Farmingdale for assaulting a 24 year old male. While placing Alvarez-Contreras under arrest, defendant William Cardoza, 23, of 298 North Atlantic Avenue, Massapequa began to interfere with the arrest. Cardoza ignored all verbal commands and became aggressive. Officers attempted to arrest Cardoza and he began to resist, causing an officer to get injured. After a struggle Cardoza was placed under arrest. The officer and the male victim were both transported to area hospitals for treatment of their injuries.
Defendant William Cardoza is charged with Assault 2nd Degree, Resisting Arrest, Obstructing Governmental Administration 2nd Degree and Disorderly Conduct. Defendant Carlos Alvarez-Contreras is charged with Assault 3rd Degree. They will both be arraigned on Sunday, November 11, 2018 at First District Court in Hempstead.
