Fourth Squad detectives are investigating a vehicular accident involving a pedestrian that occurred on Friday, September 14, 2018 at 5:30 pm in Cedarhurst.
According to detectives, after stepping out of Wok Tov, 594 Central Avenue and onto the sidewalk in front of that business, the victim, a 54 year old male, was struck by a green electric motorized scooter that was being operated by a male white driver and accompanied by a male white rear seat passenger. After the collision both driver and passenger, who fell off the scooter, walked away without identifying themselves.
The victim, who suffered a serious leg injury, was transported to an area hospital for treatment. He further described the driver as being 15-17 years old and the passenger as being 10-13 years old. Both were wearing white shirts, black pants and yarmulkes on their heads.

Yosef Soyonov, 17, of 747 Chestnut Street, Cedarhurst was arrested for the above crime. He is charged with Assault 3rd degree, Reckless Endangerment 2nd degree and Leaving the Scene of an Accident with Personal Injury. He will be arraigned on Wednesday, December 19, 2018 at First District Court 99 Main Street, Hempstead.
