Third Squad detectives are investigating an attempted robbery that occurred on Saturday, November 24, 2018 at 5:45 pm in Hempstead.
According to detectives, while walking on Baldwin Road near Oak Avenue, the 40 year old male victim was approached by a male black subject who asked him for money. After stating he had none, the subject withdrew a long wooden gun, shot the victim in the leg and fled the scene running into nearby backyards.
The victim, who was transported to an area hospital for treatment, further described the subject as being 25-27 years old 150 pounds with dreadlocks in his hair.
