
The Homicide Squad is investigating a Fatal Vehicular Accident involving a pedestrian that occurred on Wednesday, November 21, 2018 at 11:13 p.m. in Glen Cove.
According to detectives, a 72 year old male pedestrian was crossing Brewster Street from the east side to the west side when he was struck by a light colored BMW that was travelling northbound. The accident occurred in the vicinity of 21-31 Brewster Street. The driver of the BMW did not stop and continued driving. The victim sustained serious trauma and was transported by Glen Cove Fire Department to an area hospital where he was pronounced deceased by hospital staff. The victim’s identification is not being released at this time pending family notification. The investigation is ongoing.

The Homicide Squad reports updated information regarding the suspect vehicle. The light colored BMW was driven by a female driver who may have stayed at the scene for a short time and then fled prior to Police arrival. The vehicle sustained front end damage with missing parts and a cracked windshield. Detectives request anyone who thinks they may have witnessed the above incident or may have information on the driver and/or vehicle to please contact Nassau County Crime Stoppers at 1-800-244-TIPS. Homicide Squad detectives report the arrest of Carol Cashman, 70, of 115 Ayers Road, Locust Valley in connection with the above incident.
Cashman is charged with Leaving the Scene of an Accident with Death and was arraigned in First District Court, Hempstead on 11/26/2018.
