
Second Squad detectives report the arrest of a Wyandanch woman for an incident that occurred on Wednesday, January 30, 2019 at 5:30 pm in Bethpage.
Krystal Johnson, 33, of 98 Davidson Street, entered 7 Eleven, 497 Stewart Avenue, concealed ear buds and a phone charger in purse and attempted to leave the store without paying for them. She was then confronted by the store’s owner, a 43 year old male, who stopped her from leaving. After becoming combative with owner, Johnson picked up a small metal display rack, threw it at the owner, missing him and striking a 21 year old female store employee in the head causing her to sustain a large contusion. Johnson then left the store and was followed by the owner to the Bethpage Train Station where 911 was called.
Upon police arrival Johnson was located and placed under arrest. The items taken from the store were recovered and returned to the owner.
Johnson is charged with Robbery 3rd Degree and Assault 2nd Degree. She will be arraigned in First District Court, Hempstead on 1/31/2019.
