First Squad detectives are investigating a robbery that occurred on Thursday, January 31, 2019 at 7:18 pm in Baldwin.
According to detectives, a male black subject entered Lange’s Liquors, 1336 Grand Avenue, Baldwin, displayed a silver handgun to the store’s owner and told him to fill a white plastic bag with money from the register. After obtaining an undisclosed amount of money, the subject told the owner to hand him four bottles of Hennessey from behind the counter. The subject then fled the store and was last seen heading southbound on Grand Avenue. The uninjured victim further described the subject as being 5’10” tall, average build, wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt, long black shirt underneath, gray sweatpants, black, white and orange sneakers, and a black ski mask with glasses covering his face.
A subsequent investigation by detectives produced surveillance video from a Lenox Road location that showed the subject pulling up in a newer model, dark colored mini-van, and exiting the vehicle. After committing the robbery, the subject is seen returning to the same vehicle and fleeing westbound on Lenox Road.
