
The Major Case Bureau-Robbery Squad reports the Arrest of a Brooklyn man for Robberies that occurred on Sunday, August 19, 2018 and Monday, August 20, 2018 at multiple locations in Nassau County.
According to detectives, a joint investigation with the New York City Police Department’s Brooklyn Robbery Squad led to the arrest of a 16 year-old male, of East 104th St., in connection with the following Robberies:
-August 19 in West Hempstead: An unknown individual called in an order for Chinese food to be delivered to Laurel Drive. When a 33 year-old Asian male delivery driver arrived, he was dragged from his vehicle by the defendant and another unknown subject. The two individuals then entered the delivery man’s vehicle and fled the scene. The victim suffered abrasions to his knees and elbows and was treated at scene by a Nassau County Police Department Medic.
-August 20 in Valley Stream: An unknown individual called in an order for Chinese food to be delivered to Arkansas Drive. When a 42 year-old Asian female delivery driver arrived, she was assaulted by the defendant and two unknown subjects. During the assault, the subjects removed her car keys, wallet and currency from her person. Two subjects then entered the victim’s vehicle. While fleeing the scene, the subjects struck the victim with her car. The victim suffered multiple abrasions and swelling. She was transported to a local hospital for treatment and evaluation.
The defendant was apprehended at his residence. He is charged with six (6) counts of Robbery 2nd Degree and Assault 2nd Degree. He was arraigned on Thursday, October 25, 2018 at First District Court, Hempstead.

Robbery Squad detectives report the arrest of Ayan James, 18, of 1318 East 88th Street, Brooklyn, in connection with the above incidents.
James is charged with five (5) counts of Robbery 2nd Degree, two (2) counts of Robbery 3rd Degree, two (2) counts of Grand Larceny 4th Degree, and Assault 2nd Degree. James was arraigned on 2/19/2019 at Nassau County Court in Mineola.
