The Nassau County Police Department reports the details of an Aided Case involving Carbon Monoxide that occurred in Elmont at 7:16 am.
According to police, Fifth Precinct police responded to a Meacham Avenue residence for an unconscious male. Upon arrival they entered the home and discovered a 60 year old male unconscious. The victim was immediately transported to a local hospital for treatment. A short time later at 8:49 am Fifth Precinct police responded again to the same residence for two males 27 and 20 years of age and a 60 year old female experiencing nausea and headaches. Police realizing there could possibly be high levels of Carbon Monoxide inside the home immediately evacuated the home. The Officers confirmed their suspicion by activating and recorded high levels of Carbon Monoxide using their department issued Carbon Monoxide detector. The three victims were transported in a Nassau County Police Ambulance to a local hospital for treatment. The Elmont Fire department responded and confirmed the high level readings of Carbon Monoxide. They confirmed the reading and vented out the residence. All victims are reported in stable condition.
