

The Major Case Bureau reports the arrest of two Queens men on Saturday, March 9, 2019 at 9:48 p.m. in Hempstead.
According to Gang Investigations Squad detectives, Victor Leon, 21, of 157-11 Sanford Avenue, Apartment 15, Flushing, was operating a grey 2015 Honda Accord, bearing the New York State Registration HZG-4763, with a defective head light. The detectives activated their emergency lights and conducted a Vehicle and Traffic Law stop. They observed defendant Eric Monge, 23, of 33-38 Parsons Boulevard, Apartment 3G, Flushing, remove a handgun from his hooded sweatshirt and place it under his legs in an attempt to conceal it in the front passenger’s seat. Both defendants were removed from the vehicle and placed under arrest. The detectives also recovered 13 zip lock bags containing a substance believed to be marijuana.
The Gang Investigation Squad and Homeland Security Investigations continue their investigation as both defendants are MS-13 gang members.
Defendant Monge is charged with Criminal Possession of a Firearm and Disorderly Conduct from a previously issued arrest warrant. Defendant Leon is charged with 2 counts of Criminal Possession of Marijuana. Both defendants will be arraigned on Monday, March 11, 2019 at First District Court, 99 Main Street in Hempstead.
