

The Third Squad reports the Arrest of two females for an incident that occurred on Tuesday, March 12, 2019 at 9:55 p.m. in Westbury.
According to detectives, police officers were on patrol when they noticed an occupied vehicle in the rear of 101 Taylor Ave. The occupant of the vehicle, defendant Dikiya Bland, 23, of 950 Gates Ave., Brooklyn, appeared to be smoking marijuana. When officers approached the vehicle and began their investigation a second female, defendant Sheba Flood, 28, of 13 New Hope Terrace, Albany, approached the officers and became agitated and verbally abusive. Defendant Flood ignored multiple verbal commands to leave the scene and not attempt to enter the vehicle. At this point, while attempting to place Flood into custody, she kicked and punched, striking an officer in the head, causing him pain and dizziness.
Both of the defendants were placed under arrest. The officer was transported to a local hospital for evaluation and treatment. Defendant Flood was transported to a local hospital for treatment.
Dikiya Bland was charged with Criminal Possession of Marijuana 5th Degree.
Sheba Flood was charged with Assault 2nd Degree (With Intent to Cause Physical Injury to a Police Officer), Resisting Arrest, Obstructing Governmental Administration 2nd Degree and Disorderly Conduct.
Both defendants will be arraigned on Wednesday, March 13, 2019 at First District Court, Hempstead.
