
Arson/Bomb detectives report the arrest of a Hempstead man for Arson that occurred on Thursday, June 30, 2016 in Hempstead.
According to detectives, Christful Fouse, 35, of Hempstead had an argument with the male victim, 31, regarding money. As a result of the argument, Fouse poured a fluid on victim’s couch and ignited the furniture. The fire spread and the house became engulfed in flames. The victim’s niece, 12, was sleeping on the second floor. She was forced to jump from a second floor window to escape the fire.
The juvenile suffered an ankle injury and was transported to an area hospital for treatment.
On Saturday, March 16, 2019 Hempstead Police Officers located Fouse and placed him under arrest.
Defendant Fouse is charged with Arson 2nd Degree, Assault 2nd Degree and Reckless Endangerment 1st Degree. The defendant had open warrants on Assault and Marihuana charges. He will be arraigned on Sunday, March 17, 2019 in First District Court, Hempstead.
