County Executive Laura Curran, Nassau County Police Commissioner Patrick Ryder and Executive Director of the Human Rights Commission Rodney McRae are pleased to announce that the NCPD Police Foundation, the Nassau County Police Hispanic Society, the Nassau County Police Guardians and the Nassau County Association of Women Police will conclude a multi-part program designed as an education and mentoring opportunity for deserving female students from Nassau County.
These young 34 student’s ages 9 to 13 over the past two weeks received educational instruction on self-esteem, healthy relationships, nutrition, exercise and etiquette from numerous adult female professionals within Nassau County. This training will conclude with a ceremonial luncheon with a D.J. and dancing. Students will wear their prom dresses that were collected recently by the above Police Associations.
Cops and Curls is an event that is designed to build and continue relationships in the community, thus promoting that message moving forward.
