The Homicide Squad reports the details of an investigation that occurred on Friday, May 24, 2019 and Saturday, May 25, 2019 in Massapequa.
According to detectives, during an unrelated homicide investigation, information was received that human remains may be found in the Massapequa Preserve. Homicide detectives then contacted federal, state and local authorities to exchange information and coordinate their efforts to locate and identify the possible human remains.
On Friday May 24, 2019 Homicide Detectives while canvassing the preserve, were able to identify and locate a gravesite. Human remains were subsequently discovered within this gravesite and removed to the Medical Examiner’s office for further examination and identification. This investigation is ongoing.

The victim has been identified as Bryan Steven Cho Lemus, 18, of Uniondale.
