
The Nassau County Police Department reports the arrest of a Port Chester man for DWI – Leandra’s Law on Saturday, June 08, 2019 at 9:27 pm in Elmont.
According to Police, Segundo Tenecela, 46, of 107 Midland Avenue Port Chester, New York, struck a vehicle stopped at a traffic light. The defendant was traveling eastbound on Hempstead Turnpike and struck the rear of a vehicle stopped at Meacham Avenue. Officers responded to the accident.
A subsequent investigation was conducted and Tenecela was placed under arrest without incident. The vehicle’s passengers included a three year old child. The child was released into the custody of parents.
Defendant Tenecela is charged with Driving While Intoxicated, Aggravated Driving While Intoxicated (Child under 16) under the Leandra Law, Endangering the Welfare of a Child, Aggravated Unlicensed Operator 3rd Degree and multiple traffic infractions. He will be arraigned on Sunday, June 09, 2019 at First District Court, Hempstead.
