
The Arson and Bomb Squad reports the Arrest of a Wantagh man for multiple Reckless Endangerment charges that occurred on Friday, June 7, 2019 at 8:15 P.M. in Wantagh.
According to detectives, police were responding to a call for a disturbance on Judith Court and arrived on scene to an adult male victim. He stated that a firework had been thrown into his backyard pool and exploded while his daughter and three of her friends were swimming in it. No injuries reported at scene. Upon police investigation of security camera footage from the residence, the suspect was seen throwing the firework before running back towards his house and identified by the victim as neighbor Donald Hollman, 37, of 1070 Seamans Neck Road. A short time later police arrived at defendant Donald Hollman’s residence and placed him into custody without incident. Upon further investigation fireworks, marijuana and three rifles/shotguns were found inside.
For the safety and security of all of residents and visitors, Nassau County Police will continue with their zero tolerance approach regarding the possession and illegal use of fireworks.
Defendant Donald Hollman is charged with four counts of Reckless Endangerment 2nd degree, four counts of Endangering the Welfare of a Child, three counts of Criminal Possession of a Weapon 4th degree, Criminal Mischief 3rd degree, Arson 5th degree, two charges of LAB 458 Explosives Licenses and Certificates, LAB 453 Storage of Explosives, Unlawfully Selling Fireworks and Criminal Possession of Marijuana 4th degree. He will be arraigned on Sunday, June 9, 2019 at First District Court, Hempstead.
